I’ve know of people
who dream of ideas…
others who visualize.
I don’t know where
my ideas come from…
they seem to be just
THERE.
.
Somehow,
I become obsessed with
and IDEA…
off the wall idea,
usually.
Like the buoy that I made
for an auction last year.
OR
.
YUPO
My artist friends say
I’m in my element with
YUPO.
Because I do not have
any control over it.
I “just do it.”
Any things happen.
.
With writing,
again obsessed,
with a word,
idea,
I start writing or typing
and when I’m finished,
THERE IT IS.
Puzzles me.
I don’t always know
WHAT I think
until I sit and write
or type.
And it flows out.
A mystery.
A tap of angels wings.
Whispers from an
ancestor maybe.
.
Creativity puzzles me,
and it has all my life.
I don’t know where it
comes from in me,
I just know that
if I follow my instincts
and ……JUST DO IT,
THERE IT IS.

I write, there it is
thoughts, I never knew I had
Obsessed. Boggles Mind

YUPO (plastic “paper”) painting that was considered finished with the first draft.
It was to be a background or start for a portrait.
Painting at the library with my group of artist friends, I chose 3 colors…one of the
Daniel Smith triads…and just swirled them on the paper. When the paint was drying, people said that it looked like a completed painting.
And so it was. Framed and hung, “as is.”.

This is very true, creativity is often shrouded and accessing it not straightforward. I’m a painter to so thank you very much for sharing your visual piece. There’s a flow in both that perfectly captures the prompt.

Anna,
Thank you for your comments. I appreciate you taking the time and the nice comment on the painting.

I tend to play with ideas too, but I can’t often just ‘go with the flow’; I tend to edit my poems as I go along, which is why I still mostly write with pencil on paper, with an eraser to hand.
Ruth
i don’t know where it comes from either, i’m just glad it does come
– i enjoyed your creative poem

Ruth,
Thank you for your comment…appreciate it.

there are a few great poets that do just that…first draft writes…the wildness of the muse is not knowing where it will take us when we begin to write….i do tend to craft mine a bit after i am done writing…some though i dont and just let it go…i think the thoughts more pure sometimes in that…smiles…really interesting on the art…
brian miller
its good to see you…feels like its been a while…smiles.

Brian,
thanks … I do not have the education or thinking power to always be able to do what is expected, or by the time I read the other posts, it is too late to post if I’ve figured it out.
The poetry styles, posts on dVerse are a good education for me… I never took a poetry class or read much other than my favorite styles … I am here, just pondering how in the world to respond many weeks.
Thank you for the awareness of my presence or lack of… comforting to know.
Peace,
Siggi
PS….I must admit, until I fell upon dVerse, I had a couple of friends that taught poetry, at University level, and I wondered what is there about poetry that can be so interesting and time consuming. Thanks to dVerse, I know now…and appreciate the patience and skill of all poets, no matter what their genre. Thank you, all.

Brian,
Thank you for the thoughtful comments.
There are pieces that are crafted and reworked, but often the first is the best idea for me.
I do have some confusion…side effect of a medication that will be with me, it seems forever, and I sometimes take days trying to find the word that slid thru and didn’t stay !
It’s become part of my process now…more aggravating than a problem…I accept what it is.
Peace, and thanks again.

and here it is again, puzzling but pretty.
