Solitude

It’s rare that
two
can find
solitude
in the same place
at the same time.
It’s rare that
two
can find
calm
can rule
with
two
in separate rooms
doing their own
thing.
It’s rare that
two
can find
a comfortable
silence
in the same
space.
Not speaking
not feeling the need.
It’s rare that
two
can think silently
as one…
winning at cards,
or
finishing
thoughts.
It’s rare that
two
can find that
peaceful
existence,
until
the rage
struck
and
the beatings
and
violence
came out of
no where.
Then
the cycle of comfortable
silence
starts
all over again.
It’s rare,
that
two
after almost sixty
years
still able to finish
each other’s sentence’s
and find the same
comfort in silence…
But
one say’s
“I’m sorry”
and the other
says
“forgiven”…
“but stay in  your own
world
and I’ll stay in mine.”
