Something I wish I hadn’t done is
drop out of school before completing
a BSN (Bachelor of Science/Nursing).
I wish when I only had one year left
after receiving my RN schooling,
to finish my BSN, that I had done it,
and then gone to live in Japan.
Now,
I would not give up any of those memories
of living in Japan,
and I was newly married.
But I think my first husband would have waited for me
to finish school,
And I still would have had some time to spend in Japan
before he got his new orders.

Tilly,
As I told my daughter, as she struggled for ten years to get her degrees,
it doesn’t matter how old you are when you finish…
it is an accomplishment at any age. You’re going to be that age any way,
it might as well be with a degree.
It takes a certain persistence when you go to school when you are older
and I think it is more meaningful to most people…….
I congratulate you Tilly for having the persistence to get a degree…

I wish I had taken my degree straight from school, instead of waiting twenty years.

I think that it is important for people of any age
to know they can accomplish the education they started.
Both my children were non traditional students…
my son obtained a Masters degree,
and my daughter first a two year Assoc. degree then a
double major bachelors degree.
At forty, she is looking to going back to school again…
she still has one 13 year old at home and works,
but she hasn’t given up her dream.

I wish I wouldnt had dropped out either. Some things we do, but we all live and learn.
