An Artist, Photographer, Writer, Poet

Sixteen quivering in the cold blooms
sitting on the florists racks
waited for the birdlike women
to crawl out of the bar.
The last blooms after the first frost
pallid, ready to crack and shatter
at  first touch.

Shatter they did as the
hordes of women in the night,
hitching along, with a big goofy move,
reached for the rack for support,
shivering and quivering  birdlike women
sixteen cold blooms cracked and shattered
on the cold studded floor.

3 Word Wednesday CCLVII
9/7/2011 Prompts:  Erode; heart; observe

Sitting
on my porch,
observing people
as they pass by”
some alone,
some in groups.
I watch couples
as they walk by silently,
apart, eyes averted,
as if the heart strings
that once joined them
eroded their bond.
Walking by,
together,
yet apart.

The letter “U’ for Alphabe-Thursday

.
We were underway
to find an unfrozen undersea adventure.
This was unknown territory
for the unlikely group of unbiased
and unlucky travelers.
For the unjust decision to choose
a bunch of ukulele playing men
called “Uncles of the Universe”
to travel with “Little Old Ladies”,
a synchronized swimming team,
it seemed to be the ultimate uphill battle.
The trip turned ugly and
unfair to us,
so we reversed our direction
and universally decided
to abandon the adventure.
.
It’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

.

.
Back in the day,
far away from friends, family,
lonely, isolated, worlds apart,
wishing  to be near
the ones we miss the most.
.
Modern age makes home
where one is suited best,
everyone close as
skype and email
bringing you close,
to those far and near.
.
Home,where you return to
after wanderlust tugs
your heart strings
tempting one with foreign lands,
exotic lives,
greener grass than home.
.
Home, base of ones existence
where the heart resides.
Bloom where you are planted,
your soul will soar and laugh,
through daily rituals, and routines
making the day fulfilled.
.
Home is where the heart is,
rejoicing thriving.
Where you return to
when all is said and done.
