First hint of color yesterday (9/25/2011) ... soon the trees will be in their fall glory

.

fall will be ablaze
yellows, reds, oranges amaze
my minds in a
daze

AND, I had a mental pause

back on the day to post “bubble”

as the prompt.

I found it in my to post file…

so will include it here.

Display at Fedco Seeds...with lots of help to explain what you too can grow at home and how to do it.

.

Organic Catnip from Dr. Pussums...only the best for my darling, Bianca.

Have you ever been to an

Old Time Country Fair?

Without carnival rides,

and processed sugar…

except what sweets the kids

find in the snacks of honey?

.

Have you ever been to an

Old Time Country Fair,

organic fresh fruits and veggies

right out of the gardens and orchards?

Bright rainbow colors of

carrots, squash, apples

and more

at a Farm Marketplace

at each gate.

.

Have you ever been to an

Old Time Country Fair,

all organic and freshly

made breads and foods.

Farmers show how they

do their work,

tricks of their trade;

the animals have their

day too.

Oxen pulls, sheep herding dogs,

even a Harry S Truman

manure toss

to complete the day.

.

Have you ever been to an

Old Time Country Fair.

Head to Thorndike, Maine,

Common Ground Country Fair:

kids hammer nails into boards,

and jump in piles of hay…

even some old time

threshing of hay by hand,

to burn their energy.

.

Have you ever been to an

Old Time Country Fair.

The Vegetable Garden Parade,

with kids dressed as veggies,

fruits or herbs…even an insect

or animal may appear

is something to watch for

as they march the fair grounds,

in costume and with noise makers…

they should sleep well tonight!

.

Have you ever been to an

Old Time Country Fair.

With the kids

sliding down a hill

covered in hay,

on pieces of cardboard,

to the sound of music on the

outdoor stage.

Speakers elsewhere

entertain the adults

talking about herbs, seeds,

cooking, preserving and

railroads.

.

Have you ever been to an

Old Time Country Fair…

no carneval rides, or spun sugar,

isn’t all bad…

food from all the world over,

orgainic and tasty,

no one should go hungry

it’s said.
