Weekly Photo Challenge: Hidden

My cat, Bianca, has,
after almost four years of living with me
has just started to do funny things other cats do
normally, like climb on things…
normally, like climb on things…
my stereo, a favorite thing to sleep on,
dining-room table,
slept on a painting that I was working on…
.
Bianca came from a shelter as a rescue…
she didn’t like other homes that had
other cats, dogs, young children,
people who thought she should be a lap cat.
She’d been returned there 3 or 4 times due
to incompatibility with other animals and people,
and inability to resolve differences of opinion.
.
She seems to think if she can’t see me, I can’t see her. She’s
a smart cat otherwise ! She was trying to open the front door
when I noticed her on the dresser beside the door. She turned
back to me and acted as if she was hidden from view.

She has really turned on the ‘silent treatment’! It is funny how they feel if they cannot see you, then you cannot see them. Great capture. : )

Amazing…I started taking photos of what I think are quiet statements…like this “silent treatment”, because
the comment usually would be it was my imagination, reading into her body language. She’s super smart,
so it amazes me when something like this occurs ☺.
Thank you for taking time to write a comment.

What cute entry, Sig I have a thing with animals and so I really like this one.

My beloved rescue cat Wölkchen (see gravatar) frequently had nightmares and was afraid of anyone but me (my friends accused me of having an imaginary cat because nobody ever saw her). It took years for her to stop being afraid — but towards the end of her life she actually ran to the door when the doorbell rang, expecting to be petted and admired. It takes time for the inner wounds to heal. I’m glad Bianca has found such a good home at last!

Sony..this is my first cat…I understand what amuses me, every cat does,
but she is what amuses me, and the company when she is not hiding, is nice.

Walking the Cat…
thank you for your wonderful comments. Your cat seemed have blossomed near the end of her life. I’m sorry for your lost of a wonderful companion…and applaud you for your patience and love for her.
We have figured out that my very obedient cat, Bianca, was owned by someone who was very strick and had high expectations on behavior for a cat. Recently, she no longer hides when strangers are here…she at least checks them out before disappearing if they don’t meet her standards. And I think if really pressed, because I think her dislike of other animals is because she never saw any other animals to know if they were friend or foe, she would learn to live with a companion animal. She also never got to look out windows….that’s what I think, anyway, and her first two years she was fascinated by everything out the windows, even night time snow.
Thank you for your wonderful comments.

Wow! what a unique cat. So ironic that her fur is mostly one bold outstanding color and her personality is aloof. Great photo for the challenge! Thanks for sharing, and for rescuing that beauty. 🙂
