Only I would take a photo of a rest room, but love the tiles and decor at Shinbashi where the writing group had lunch, Tuesday.

Second night in a row, house concert at 430 Bayside. Tonight it was Lewis MacKinnon and Brian

.

Tuesday Laughter Yoga before Writing group…and then the writing group went to lunch at Shinbashi, an Asian restaurant new to Ellsworth.  Two of us decided we want to  try the eel sushi next time. After that I went to see Princess Kovacs so she wouldn’t feel everyone left her when “her man” Jack went on vacation.  The medicine was finished when he left and someone else was going to feed her.  She hid at first, then after she was gotten from under the couch, I got to hold her and she relaxed and almost purred…a soft growl ☺.

Music at 430  Bayside…a real honest to goodness Poet Laurette of Scotland.  Writes and sings  in English, Scottish Gaelic and Irish.  He was born in Cape Breton and raised in Antigonish County Nova Scotia.  He has a powerful baritone voice.Lewis MacKinnon has performed in coffee shops, pubs, convention centres, theatres and concert halls throughout Eastern Canada since 1994.   Accompanied by Brian…….afterwards we had pizza, my favorite food group.

I’d been sitting before the music started working on some poetry prompts I was behind in and then Steve, whose house the concerts are at, told of Lewis being a Poet Laurette…I felt I could never write again !  I bought his book….English on one side, and Gaelic on the other.  He said he thinks in Gaelic when he writes and then the poems were translated.  Impressive.  I have trouble writing and thinking in English.  Unfortunately, Lewis heard me say that I’d been writing poetry and afterwards while waiting for the pizza to finish cooking he came up to me and said, “So, you write poetry, too?”   Arrrrgh.

December? Already?/Princess relaxed/Catching up

.

Princess should be happy her man, Jack, is home tomorrow.  She’s run out of hiding places…that’s my thinking not hers !  Tonight looked everywhere after she streaked out from behind the living room couch into her room.  After several pass throughs…it’s a single wide trailer by gosh with two rooms with closed doors, looked just at the right angle, and behind a free standing book stand, I saw two blue eyes and a pink nose peeking out from under a sheer white curtain.  Sigh.  Then the race was on !  She always goes to behind the couch in her room and challenges us to get her.  ☺.

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving Day and long weekend.

OOPs/Stacey called/enjoyed peace/quiet?

***  I always ask for “piece and quiet” for holidays when asked what I want. It is still new to me not to have her and her girls living a couple of blocks away.   Holidays had been spent working…almost always on Thanksgiving, and usually spent with my daughter when I got home from work…especially the past ten years.   I am not one to remember to call people…I am hard of hearing and conversations are difficult…

It took me a few moments to realize that she meant not only was it peace and quiet, but I hadn’t thought to call !  Facebook doesn’t count for holidays !  Giant OOPs.

Church/NWHSN packed arrived Saturday/absorbed

Last month my nursing class at Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis had their 46th reunion.  I was not able to attend…       it would have been so grand to see everyone after all these years.  The packet from the reunion included graduation photos of those attending next to a photo taken at the reunion…so exciting to see….and such memories just seeing the photos.  Accompanying the photos was a cd of photos AND an update of their lives by almost all the graduates alone with an address book of up-t0-date address, email and phone numbers.  I spent most of my day reading and remembering.  Can’t wait for the 50th in a few short years.

.

Packet from Northwestern Hospital of Nursing reunion...hard work has its rewards for whomever did all this...there was early photographs of the hospital. what the hospital looked like in 1965 and what it looks like now....a huge campus.
