Weekly Photo Challenge: Today

.

The photos were taken today, June 1, 2012.

.

The flag at the house next to the library in Somesville, ME, where we paint has been missing since it was tattered in a storm a while back. I can see it from where I sit and paint. When I painted today, it was the first time it was in my view for many months…it was so joyous to see it back today.

.

The wisteria is covering a good portion of this house on E. Maine Street in Ellsworth, ME.

.

The wisteria reaches for the sky from the roof of the house.

.

The wisteria vine reaches for the lamp post.

.

The hill next to the town waterfront is gorgeous with lupine and phlox. For several years it had only a spotting of the color…this year, the conditions were perfect to restoring the beauty I see as I drive down Water Street. Joyous to see.

.

Mother Nature coordinated the colors perfectly !

.

We are expecting a stormy weekend.
I made a photo excursion after painting
in Somesville to capture the wisteria
and the waterfront lupines and phlox
knowing that the wisteria were starting
to drop the blossoms and the waterfront
flowers may be damaged.  Two exceptional
sights this spring.
