Weekly Photo Challenge: Today
June 2, 2012
.

First thing today, a friend offered some seedlings for the garden my ex hubby has in my back yard. Howard loves to start seedlings, then offers them to his friends at no cost. My yard looks lovely every year and the veggies are always yummy !
.

Heavy rains with strong winds are expected to start tonight so I took some photos of some beautiful flowers that might not survive the storm. The storm is slow getting here which gives hope that maybe the forecasters are wrong ! This house on E. Main St. has a beautiful flowering bush on the left….unusually bright color.
.

Another beautiful flowering bush at Meadowview, the senior housing apartments. This is next to the Robert and Mary Place … day care for Alzheimer’s patients….
a lovely program.

Lupines on Birch Avenue across from where I used to work. The colors are hybrid but still love them.
.

A stop at the Craft Barn…the local store for artist and craft supplies. I am working on a buoy for an auction and needed some supplies.
.

Luckily I had a specific paper I needed…the choices of fancy papers … some hand made, are endless.☺.
.

I delivered some paints to the nursing home where I used to be Director of Nursing and now a LPN friend works nights there…she needed some sparkly paints to finish her buoy for the Fisherman’s auction and the hanging planter was by the door. … just gorgeous.
.

There were irises of many colors, poppies, roses, and the Donald Little Park just down the street. So many flowers, so little time tonight. Went home after the nursing home “drop off” of paints to wait for the rain to start…hopefully after midnight. The rest of my day was a long nap, then blogging and an internet art class…several sessions I’d put off watching.
And that was the second of June 2012 !

Beautiful flowers. I hope they make it through the heavy rains. It’s also hurricane season in Texas. Scary but we need to face each day as bright as we can. Be safe…

I envy the green thumbs you and your friends an neighbors have!

Retiring sort..
so do I…but I do think I might be…now that I had cataract surgery and can see better so I don’t pull the plants and leave the weeds…I might be allowed at least into the garden to help. There is so much to know and learn…and instinct !
I do enjoy the fruits of every ones labors. It was an easy decision when my now ex husband wanted to continue with the garden when we were in the bargaining/mediation stage of our divorce. He lives in a retirement community and unable to have a big garden there….especially one that is already established !
Thanks for the comment…
