This past week, the sun is setting earlier and the light on the trees is bright and fascinating to watch as the sun quickly sets.

.

Tree top detail can be seen.

.

I love this view with the curtain framing it.

.

Thanks to Becca for sharing her Sunday Trees post with me.

last child out of house
waiting for the boomerang
house waiting return
.
return came, then left
boomerangs and transitions
of ones own children

adult children grow
settle with own families
“Gram”? me ? Don’t think so !

free to sleep, travel,
not worry whose home, whose not
waiting for, “MuM, help”
.
no calls, no return
can it be I’m alone now ?
grandchildren change that !

Choose your own battles
not those others choose to fight
wise men say often
.
battlefields in love
or battlefields in war are lost
if win not the goal
.
battlefields in court
the lawyers are the winners
money their vision
.
Trees, feeders can be
battleground for birds, ducks and
tiny hummingbirds
.
card table war zone
for many singles, couples
winner takes home the prize

Footprints on my heart
keep me thinking of your love
always, forever
.
You moved far away
children do that sometimes and
go where the jobs are
.
Love you forever,
Remember the book we’d read ?
Footprints on my soul.

.

.
I got confused on the day of the week.
Have worked 17 days … now 4 off …
and checking the calendar realized I didn’t
post the footprints haiku.  No time like the
present to catch up.☺

waltz right up, speak up

that’s her way to meet someone

startling, effective

Waltzed across her heart
.
with soft sweeping steps of love

cad:  waltzed out  same way

.

waltzed across the room
.
confident,  full of  “I’m hot”
.
snubbed,  waltzed back,  to wall

Sailing paper boat under cerulean skies: what a time I’d have.

.

When a child I dreamed
to sail over the huge pond
in a paper boat
.
Newspaper sail boat
red sails, finest rice paper
a fine trip I’d have
.
Sail to far off lands
see Eiffel tower, windmills
Holland’s spring tulips

Large families try
organization to max
to me: a dull roar
.
you can hear silence
lakeside in the countryside
deafening to hear
.
her left hand, right hand
my right hand, is the wrong hand
can  we both be right ?

This is one feeding station at the house where I work. In the evening, when the weather is nice, we sit on a screened porch and watch for birds to come to the feeders. There haven’t been any hummingbirds recently…and will find a photo of earlier months this summer to add…but time is of the essence to post…The hummingbirds are amazing to watch.
