A reminder of the circle of life…a severe spring storm took the lives of 3 trees…one has been removed as it was uprooted, the other 3 given a chance to thrive. For 16 years as I painted portraits, I loved to watch the changes in the trees. This year, one will be left, it appears. It has red berries the birds love.
.

This has been my favorite of the trees because of it’s gorgeous red berries and red foliage in fall. I don’t know the name of the tree…correction…I have been told the name of the tree, but I keep forgetting it ☺

Remembering the cerulean skies that started the day, flags at half mast by noon or earlier. Red in the flag…blood shed, lives lost that day 11 years ago today.

Souls divine meeting
eyes across crowded dance floor
one enchanted night
.
They were late for work
she had a spot on her blouse
fate stepped in again
.
They were never late
divine intervention ruled
fateful day years back
.
Horrified they saw
buildings crumble, friends dying
their souls changed forever
.
Remember the day
their world changed in a moment
forever holy.
