This tamarack brightens an otherwise dark spot on the curve of the road.
Tamarack tree, or Eastern larch, is among the few conifers that lose their leaves in the Fall. They turn a golden yellow that is beautiful especially in the sunlight when they seem to glow in the landscape.

The golden color of these tamaracks … on another curve in the road …brighten the ride from Mount Desert Island, Maine. An annual joy to behold.
