This spring, the twin to the tall tree at the end of the house (the tallest tree) fell into the second floor of the house and could not be saved. The tree had provided shade for the house for over a century, and a home for wildlife…including bears that would come and sit IN the tree and look inside the big bay window ! Treats were provided for the bears so it was a win/win situation. There are feeding stations provided by two ladders and two levels of boards for feeding….twice or more a day, the feeders are supplied with peanuts and sunflower seeds. It’s not the same as the tree, but the wild life continue to be provided for year ’round.
