Road beckons

long line of cars wait

I lived in Japan for a time when my first husband
was stationed there on a Navy base.
On a clear day, Mt. Fuji could be clearly seen
from near my house.
When we decided to drive to the mountain,
I was surprised by the patience of the people
in the long line of cars waiting to get to the
base where the path led to the top.
