The painting was almost complete but it needed
“something”…I was trying to figure out what
kind of leaf would work after ruling out several
options.
Then I read Heaven’s poem and decided the two
were a perfect fit.
Titile: “Clinging to You” a poem by Canadian blogger,

kiss me anew, here
before the last maple leaf
falls, and first snowflake
wets my pale lips, stilling time
twisted in salty drenched arms
.
hurl me anew, here
before the last rose petal
dips, and first winter
drop caresses my bare hips
unfolding, clinging to you

A haiku was recently inspired
by the painting in answer to
a prompt:

leafy beauty gone
trees left barren quickly
shivery north winds

Across the street from me in YELLOW is a retired school
that now has the YMCA Day Care and After School
programs. (it was yellow colored when I found it today !)
Also, there is a Senior Center, Families in Action.
Still on the property is the old basketball court where I
could check on my son from the front door to be sure
he was still there.
And there is the ball field that was til this year used
for ball games of all ages and the community ice rink.
The Moore School is the yellow and the parking is for
the center and for the nursing home that is being built
…it is presently a block away, but inadequate for
today’s needs.
My house is directly from the cross walk on
State Street…there is a car parked near it.
The changes are needed, and synchronistical…
my children attended Moore School at the
same time I worked as Director of Nursing at
the Nursing Facility that is being built. You can see
part of the proposed two story nursing facility on
the right edge of the photo.

I took an Impressionistic painting class by Lois Griffel years ago…this would have been the first laying in of color
showing the temperature of the areas of the painting. I did this as a “finished” on the first attempt painting, on purpose,
due to limited time available for me that morning. The girl is sitting inside a 2 side by side glass doors on a sunny day.
