We had a one two punch
with snow.
This is after the first winter storm,
Euclid
…the small break before Freyr
… just time to shovel
before the paths androadways
were filled again…
.
=====================
.
Euclid arrived
with the full of the
Winter Cold Moon.
Cold, wind, blowing snow,
sculptured beauty,
left the power on.
.
Running in the Winter
Wonderland of Maine
after a storm such as this,
… they run
because they must ? …
must be a soul full
and peaceful time
before the snow plows
and snow blowers,
rev their motors
breaking the silence.
.
Freyr was the name,
bitter cold, winds,
a foot of snow was it’s game.
Another gem of beauty
…after the storm,
Euclid,☺

Siggi — I am not running in order here … I am making Carpe Diem rounds, and when I first saw these wonderful trees — I was going to leave you a note to say these would make great Sunday trees — and lo and behold … they are the linked ones!! Delightful!!! Stay bundled and warm … I would enjoy these sights from a fireplace with hot chocolate hibernating like a bear — certainly not out shoveling!! 😀 Lovely all round post!!

You made the storm sound so beautiful, although it was from the comforts and warmth of home. I a glad though that less snow fell than was projected.
We had a chance to drive around a day or two after the big storm, there were still many unplowed and untrodden swaths of snowy ground. And there were areas were children have been sledding and making snowmen. Maine does look so pretty after a snowfall. Everywhere I look, there were Christmas trees laden with fresh snow. Winter paradise indeed. 🙂

When I had to shovel or work because others “couldn’t make it to work” I grumbled at the snow…but I’ve always seen the beauty of the snow on the ground….especially the first big snow storms…no snow banks in the way yet, and I love to look out my windows and keep the outside lights on so I can see it.
Since I’ve gotten older, the cold will bother me, and I choose to stay in rather than go out if I don’t have to…like today…stay snug at home, no reason to go out.
Thanks for your comments.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful and prosperous New Year.

Wabisabi…
I love the snow from inside the house and taking photos of it’s beauty or trying to paint paintings of its forms and random acts of beauty with the wind blowing and shaping it or the sun creating sculptures as it melts.
I grew up in Wisconsin and Minnesota, USA, and spent a lot of time outside in my youth and WAY too much time shoveling the fluffy and not so fluffing white manna from above !
Thanks for your comments.
Best wishes for you and your family to have a wonderful New Year.
