This tree is a short block from my house and is a beautiful sight after the gloom of “mud season.”

I was stalled mentaly painting a portrait of a favorite
model, Merideth, and I did two quick “warm-up”  paintings
that I call Essence of Merideth.  This is one of them.
The other is in a private collection.

Prompt:  Grand Canyon Skywalk

.

I don’t know whose bright idea building this was…

now I do…Commissioned, owned by the Hualapai Indian tribe,
Grand Canyon Skywalk is part of a grander plan.

It is mysterious  and fascinating…despite my first reaction.

I can see a casino built at the edge
…one can jump right away when their riches are gone.

Not a nice thought.  Shame on me.  Not.

Back to the bridge…intriguing to be up with the birds flying below,
and above.
  A birds eye view.

I’ve often wondered what it would be to have a birds eye view ….
would they let me bring my palette box ?

* similar appearance in different generations
seems “normal” to me…
but I’m usually taken back when I realize that
a child’s voice sounds like their parents.
My son once called me from the airport, returning
from an overseas tour in the Air Force, and for a
brief second, hearing “I’m in Boston” made me
wonder why my brother was calling me from Boston !
