Would love to see reference to the doves in the haiku because of the legend. sand dollars/on ocean floor/doves fly overhead? What you wrote about them is so beautiful.

Thank you for the suggestion…after I wrote and posted it,
I realized that there were probably several more sets I could write,
or a cascading haiku but hadn’t put my mind to it.

Thank you for the comment…before I moved to Maine, I had never heard of a sand dollar. I find it interesting to find them on the shore and that so many people make gorgeous jewelry and other crafts from them.

Thank you for your comment. I hadn’t heard of the legend until I had found some and was going to give them to some children. Then someone asked me if I knew of it. Actually there are a couple of versions. One for Christmas and Easter, but I like this one because it is non-denominational and all faiths can enjoy.
