I lost my own comment ! So this is try @2 … I have been told that my daughter as a teen was a spitting image of me, tho I didn’t see it myself. Others in town did…knew exactly who her mother was (it’s a small town). My first husband and I looked like siblings, my brother and I did not look related ! My son and daughter when they were young looked so much a like that even tho they are four years apart, Stacey was called “little Bret” at school much to her dismay.

Thank you for the visit and kind reply…it IS a difficult prompt…and only posting photos from the film card on facebook gave me the idea…
I’d taken a photo of them together.
Nanka,
The grandmother aged like I remember grandmother’s aging back in the day…grandmotherly looking….but you could see that she would have looked very similar to her grand-daughter. Amazing. We were painting the grandmother’s portrait the day after she arrived in Maine from Germany and I was sitting where I could see the two of them…amazing.

Thanks for the comment…I wrote the poem after seeing a Grandmother and grand-daughter at our painting group…the grandmother had just arrived the day before from Germany and she couldn’t stop smiling at her grand-daughter…and vice versa….
charming to see.

Reminds me of when people used to say I was a carbon copy of my aunt. They don’t talk about carbon copies anymore…

Charleenm…
I forgot…carbon copy and carbon paper…
I don’t think that a lot of people would know what is meant by “carbon copy” without looking it up.
Myself, I had forgotten the phrase…thank you !
