Carpe Diem had a prompt of “Hotaru (Firefly)“. I immediately remembered this photo, which I also have done a painting of.fireflies and a double rainbow that Jfef had taken. Due to computer problems, I missed the posted deadline for Carpe Diem and posted only in my blog. . I offer it here to share with you.

nice…unfortunately we don’t have many fireflies over here.. i find the so fascinating..we caught june bugs and put them in jars..but it’s not the same…smiles

Charles…I haven’t seen any here in the big city (of 7,000) … too many lights of the stores maybe. Jfefs little island of Sunshine is far away from any city lights…truly supreme. I felt she must have the magic touch of catching the fireflies and the rainbows and walking her two huge Samoyeds (?spelling)☺

Not only firefies and rainbows, she was waling two huge Samoyeds at the time ! I presume she let the dogs roam…while she took the photo. She still remembers how awesome the experience vividly.

Thank you for the comment…Jfef, the photographer truly believes in faeries and good omens…she even saw two ….I can’t think what the term is, but two circular rainbows at the same time driving home from work one day !

ha. smiles. i love the fireflies…and catching them…we mason jar them at times but def punch the holes….they are cool to sit on the porch and watch…a little magic in the air…

Holes for air for sure…used mother’s…or dads…ice pick. Still have an ice pick myself, tucked away so I don’t hurt myself of course I remember how magical it was to watch
them and wonder where the light came from !
