Living in Japan in the mid-1960’s
my Navy husband worked the
shifts such as Eve/Day/Mid (nights)
two days off and started that or some
combination of them over. That meant,
living off base, in a Japanese neighborhood,
I was often alone…the other two houses were
also Americans but not often home. My
companion, at home and on the road, was my
Chip. He loved to ride and loved to visit. I’ve
often called him my “first child” we spent so
much time together.
