OctPoWriMo 2015 Day 12 ….26 lines

Write a poem that is 26 lines.

Each line begins with a different letter of the alphabet. A, B, C, etc.

………..

.
Always dreaming
Before they met
Castles with
Dungeons dark and dank
eerie sounds of death
Foul
Ghoulish
.
Haunted hayride
Interrupted by
Joyride of headless horsemen
Kickboxing their foes
Loving every moment
.
Mantras heard from woods
Night
Owls
Peered
Quickened senses
Rose the dead
Spirits
Trembled
Underneath whispering pines
.
Vultures
Woke to search for prey
Xylophones hammers pounding kept the beat
Yearlings woke
Zebra’s wept.

OctPoWriMo Day 11.. surprising yourself

prompt:  Think of a time where you surprised yourself. You set out to do something and you surprised yourself. You weren’t even sure if the goal was feasible. Maybe it was something you hadn’t done before. Maybe you did it against the advice of family and friends. Perhaps you had to war against your inner doubts to make it happen. But you did it anyway and you did it your way.
Tell us your success story

.
A time of crisis
told to
Speaking up
to honor my moral compass.
There was a time
my opinion wasn’t my own
molded by parents
grandparents and spouse
.
Standing my ground.
Knowing it was the right thing to do
and say
No regrets … no wondering
a feeling of sadness for defying a parent
a feeling of peace
for honoring my God.

OctPoWriMo 2015 Day 10 Go Wild

.

Too tame
too obedient
no wild child in me.
.
Years pass
wonder where the wild child
went.
.
What in me
locked wild away
where can it be
.
Go Wild
Go West
Go some where.
.
Wild is found
in Thunderdrums
rocking music of my youth
.
Wild was there
just didn’t see
what others did
.
Back in the day
it was thought that
80 was the wild time
.
The time to speak
ones mind
and people would laugh
.
Why wait til bewildered
unable to enjoy
the reactions
.
Wild
my rock’n roll
bluesy jazz
.
Drummin’ to the beat
stompin’ with the joy
Wild ~ make your own Wild
.
Going Wild
to my own beat
Going Wild ~ laughing all the way.
