my Mother
kerchief on her head
only in back yard
properly coiffed in public
expectation always met

This photo, and a couple others,
of my mother not ready to be publicly seen,
are rare as hens teeth.
I delighted as a young blossoming candid
photographer catching her unawares.
She was not happy if she found any of the photos.
This one appears that she might have known
I was taking it.
