Note:
Some times there would be so many cars
I’d forget where I was…
often in Wisconsin freight trains
would have over 100 cars.
It was exciting to get to the crossing
just as the bars came down
knowing we’d start from number one
The added excitement of never knowing
how long each train was never grew old for me.
