First of all, those pink clouds! Wow! Also happened to catch a special on The Smithsonian channel analyzing why the Titanic didn’t see the iceberg earlier and why the nearby ship never responded to the call for help. Atmospheric conditions created mirages. The iceberg not seen before too late and the other ship had same issue with receiving the distress code.
JRB …
The photo I took is where the sun rises…… on the other 3 directions, there are also some smaller clouds with the same colors. I take sunset photos from my back deck…a yellow house is the marker for that direction. It must have something to do with the heat and humidity and reflection of the sun… other than that…I “dunno”…. but a curiosity … I took photos of all four directions from my house…probably will never happen again.
Bjorn,
The world didn’t end that night, so guess all is well in the atmospheric conditions of Maine. It was curious…and I took photos of all four directions from my house. It has ??? to be reflective light from the angle of the sun setting ???
Will see if I get an answer somewhere, cause I’m curious-er and curious-er as time goes by.
Thanks for the comment,
Peace

Ha… yes if sun set in the east… that would make me both curious and concerned.
