The prompt is part of the opening line of Walter de la Mare’s poem
The Listeners : Is there anybody there?
.
.
My heart beats fast,
I can feel it pounding,
my breathing quickens.
.
What is the feeling in the room ?
There seems to be someone here,
in this room, right NOW.
I feel chilly, shiver.
I look. I see no one.
I feel something, someone.
.
Is anybody there?
I didn’t believe in ghosts
back in 1971.
The windows rattle.
The wind isn’t blowing.
.
Is anybody there ?
I think it, but don’t say it.
Then I hear footsteps,
I’m alone in the house.
Or so I thought.
.
Is anybody there ?
WHY are you here.
And who ARE you ?
.
.

Strange sounds always seem to stir a volley of questions that somehow know that there will be no immediate answer…yet!

I believe in ghosts and light orbs and spirits that still have unfinished business here. Having gone through some of it.

shivers…now that is pretty scary..i grew up with a grave yard in the back yard….i do believe….you def set the mood well in your words…

Brian, Thank you for your comment…a grave yard in the back yard…lots of them in Maine.
I’m fascinated by the fact they are everywhere…I do know there are “rules” for having a grave yard
…I don’t find it scary, but odd, but not odd.
Peace,

Spooky and good… or is it good and spooky? Either way, I like it, Siggi!
