land fertile grew crops
cattle and sheep grazed for years
Desert of Maine hides

crop rotation nil
sheep ruined the landscape grazing
Desert of Maine shows

Amazing picture, pine trees and desert juxtaposed, well crafted haiku. Please accept my congrats for both the picture and haiku!

Joanne…
It is just outside Freeport Maine…I have never stopped there, but drive by it several times a year.
A friend of mine has many fond memories she shares of her visits there…now I have to ask her to tell
me her stories again ☺
Thanks for taking time to comment.

Very creative variation of the last line. And your theme works strange on an iPad as well.

I am elderly and incompetent on the computer…and my “experts”..adult children and their children all live away in Texas and Colorado. I seem to be the
only blogger in this town pf 7000..the experts (programers and writers) and amateur bloggers on different sites, …. and the instructor at the Senior College ….all throw their hands up when I ask for help. Sigh.
I will try to find someone to help fix it…the top seems to repeat the first post…in the slim form and then page form. Got me so far.
Thank you for the nice comment…I appreciate it…and appreciate the effort you took to read it.

Something’s amiss with your site – or my brain. Couldn’t find where to comment kept having to reload your site . . . almost gave up. I know it’s not my beloved Macbook so I point my mouse at you.
Am I the only one having trouble, if so then it’s my brain?
I truly like how you echoed the last lines, each with a variation.

So, it is NOT your brain, and I will work on finding someone to help me. Thank you for the nice comment on the “last lines”.
And thank you for letting me know of the problem you are having. Sigh. Brain sprain so far on fixing it today. Sorry.

Excellent haiku, especially the last.
